What books and magazine did I read this month?

My husband and I were in a library book club this month. So I read a couple books both by the author Sarah Dessen. The first on was called Someone like you. The second was called Dreamland. Both were very good and I discovered I really like this Author. My favorite Author is Nicholas Sparks and he has a new book coming out in September and I can't wait.

What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month?

Well this just so happened to be a great movie month for my husband and I. Usually we can't go to the movies because of the kids but my mom offer to babysit twice so we could see two movies. First we seen new Die Hard Movie with Bruce Willis. Then we seen the movie Transformers. We actually got to see it the day before it came out at a sneek preview at our local theater. We also rented a couple but I can't remember that far back.

What special days did I celebrate and how?

We just celebrated the 4Th of July this month. We had a cook out in our back yard. We also went to a carnival and watched some fireworks.

What gifts did I give and/or receive?

We went to our little nephews baptism, and gave him a Precious Moments cross for the wall. For his baptisimal gift. My Husband Ken did give me a card letting me that he loved me. Thanks Ken I still love the card.

What illness or health concerns did I have?

Kens grandpa isn't doing so well. So we have been keeping him in our prayers a lot lately. He is getting old, and it suffering from a broken heart still from the death of his wife a couple years ago.

What fun things did I do with my friends and or/family?

Well this month it seems as if we did a lot of fun things together. We went to the carnivals, and watched some firewors together. We also went to a water park, and to a circus. We seen the baptism of our first nephew. We had lots of cook outs and lots of family time together. Ken took quite a few days off work for his vacation and we spent some good time together as a family.

What new food, recipes or restaurants did I try this month?

For the first time ever I tried real homemade Phillipino food, at our nephews baptism. I don't really like trying new things but I did and I really like it. It was very good. Its a little like Chineese but with a different flavor. It was a nice and welcomed change of food.

What special or unusual purchases did I make?

I guess I didn't purchase anything special except the cross for the baptism. I did get my eyebrows threaded. Some may think its unusual, but I do it all the time.

What were this month's disappointments?

It was really a good month and I cant say I was disappointed by anything.

What were my accomplishments this month?

We got the whole house summer cleaned. From the windows inside and out cleaned, and all the floors scrubbed.

AS everyone already knows Im new to the whole blogging world. I was wondering if anyone knew a site or some sites where I could get a neat or some sort of pattern for my blog background that is free. I really dont want to pay anything for it. Also can anyone tell me how you do it. I just cant figure it out. PLease if you have the time I would really be grateful for a walk through on how to do it and som sites. Thanks Vicky

OK so I know most people are not yet thinking of the Christmas but I guess I am. Maybe because it is just around the corner and we are going to be leaving for Christmas early this year. However it is a good idea to just start to make a Christmas wish list. With all the pressure of the holiday I can never think of what I really what for Christmas.
